The trainee needs to obtain a Provisional LGV licence (Form D2). You will need to make an appointment with a Doctor for your medical remembering to take your Medical Form (D4) with you. There is a fee involved for the medical. Boston LGV Training LTD has special arrangements with certain Doctors Surgeries which offer discounts for medical.
Then send the completed forms, plus your current licence to DVLA Swansea. When you have received your licence, please contact Boston LGV Training to arrange a time and date for your assessment drive. After your assessment, your instructor will tell you how many days training you will require to reach test standard.
A days training, with two trainees, usually starts at 7.30am and finishes at 4.30pm with refreshment breaks. Generally, trainees take between five and seven days training on average, with the driving test at the end of the training course.
Shunter Training is available. 1 – 3 day course using the customers own vehicle and is conducted at their premises. Please call for further information.
Please note: The LGV Theory Test must be passed before you can take your practical driving test.
